This is the 10th meeting of GMSTEC Trust. The key issues for the meeting are establishment of the GMSTEC Research Fellowships and international conferences and the Trust Administration.

At this meeting, a range of issues were discussed including the term of the Chair of GMSTEC and a nomination for the new Chair from Trustees, new membership fees, GMSTEC brochure and website, PhD Cooperation and GMSTEC summary document 2001- 2008. It was agreed that before the next meeting the Secretariat will prepare a document summarizing progress over 2001-2008 and provide an indication of where GMSTEC is heading, for use primarily in promoting GMSTEC to academic staff within members’ institutions.

I have the pleasure to inform you that the next annual meeting of the Greater Mekong Subregion Tertiary Education Consortium Trust (GMSTEC) will be held on 23 September 2009 in Can Tho, Vietnam, hosted by Can Tho University.
